Kazakhstan
and Thailand have introduced a visa-free regime for 30 days. The corresponding
government decree was signed on April 18.
“Citizens
of the state of one party, holders of valid travel documents, the validity of
which must be at least six months, are exempt from visa requirements for entry,
exit, transit, temporary stay in the territory of the state of the other party
for a period not exceeding 30 calendar days from the date of entry , a total of
90 calendar days during each period of 180 calendar days,” the document says.
It is worth
noting that people who intend to stay in the territory of the state of the
other party for more than 30 calendar days must obtain the appropriate visa
required in accordance with the laws and regulations of the state of that
party.
At the same
time, each of the parties to the agreement reserves the right to refuse entry
to a citizen of the state of the other party, whom it may consider undesirable,
or to shorten or terminate their stay on the territory of its state in
accordance with its legislation and rules.
In
September last year, the Thai authorities exempted Kazakh citizens from the
visa procedure as part of a pilot project. In February of this year it was
extended until August 31. Now the visa-free regime for Kazakhstanis will
operate without time restrictions.
